Marc started off quite gently, sorting my stretching and mobility, before turning the sessions up a few notches and now working me much harder. Throughout my life my weight and fitness have been a bit of a roller coaster. I am no stranger to exercise and I have tried a good many ways to get in shape in the past. My problem has always been keeping myself motivated. I would get bored with any activity very quickly and then would watch all my hard earned gains slowly fizzle away. When I started working with Marc I knew that what I needed was a push and to see some big results. If for no other reason than to keep me interested in what I was doing.

The first thing you will realise is that Marc is not your run of the mill Trainer. Being a good trainer is more than just being an encyclopedia of obscure exercises. It’s about understanding the individual. We took a good long look at my dietary habits, sleeping patterns, vitamin intake, exercise habits and mental attitude in general to see what would work for me. Marc created an exercise and diet programme specific to me and the goals that I had asked him to help me with.

One of Marc’s biggest skills is that he manages to push me harder than I could ever push myself but without leaving me terrified of the next session. In fact something has happened to me that I never expected. I find myself saying things like “Is that X kilos on there? Can we try a bit more?” or “How fast did I run that 5K last time? Ok. I’m going to try for ….” . I currently train three to five days a week. But don’t let that frighten you. I started at one day per week and moved on when I was ready. And that, I think, is what makes Marc’s approach so successful. It doesn’t matter what level of fitness you start with, Marc will find the right level for you that keeps you challenged and engaged without making you want to cry ( too much )

Having dieted multiple times over the past few years, with my weight yo-yoing continuously I found myselfin a rut at the beginning of this year having ballooned up the heaviest I have been. My weight and bodyimage had always been a struggle of mine both physically and mentally, and as such I was very down aboutthe way I looked as a result of the food I ate (as well as extreme lack of exercise!).
Having trained ‘intermittently’ (key word!) by myself at my local gym over the past year or two, I washesitant about whether this process would actually work for me, or if it was going to be another shortlived idea to lose weight where I would simply give up after a short period of time and regain the weightI had lost.
The process has been amazing working with M.A.S.K. PT.  The passion and dedication that I receive fromboth Marc and Vanessa throughout my journey so far has been incredible so far, and has spurred me onto achieving my goals more than I ever could have imagined.  I felt the benefits within weeks and theircommitment to ensuring I keep going and educating me not only on the way I train but my nutrition isabsolutely invaluable.  Every session I leave feeling regenerated and on a high, despite having been putthrough my paces!! It’s now got to the point that I actually can’t wait to train again, which is something Inever thought I’d say!!

The 21 Day Fat Loss Programme focused on both eating habits, diet and exercises and provided the valued kickstart I needed.  At first I was very skeptical of the advice but I stuck to it, with Vanessa firmly on my shoulder! Atthe end of the 21 day programme I had lost 10lbs and felt I had more energy than I had in years. I continued towork with Vanessa through to April and I lost a few more pounds, changed my body fat/muscle composition anddropped at least one dress size.
Through an improved diet suited to my body type I have learnt how to fuel my body and maintain energy levelsthrough the day which has had a positive impact on my overall health.
